Thursday July 25

Edible Invasives Walk – 3-4 pm Kovach Park

We will identify and learn about the invasive plant species that have taken root in this area and their impact on the local ecosystem. There will be pointers about which species can be eaten, and how to gather them without increasing the risk of their spread.

Friday, July 26
Invasive Species Trailer – 10.00am-4pm Kovach Park
Speed Weed Contest- 5.30PM-6:30PM Kovach Park

Armed with gloves and determination, you’ll have just 10 minutes to race against the clock, weeding as many invasive species as you can from your team’s designated plot. The goal is to remove as many of these intruders as possible within the time limit. It’s a test of speed, skill, and teamwork!

Saturday, July 27th
Grow Me Instead Workshop – 10:00AM-10:30AM- Grizzly Plaza

Educational session on common misconceptions surrounding wildflowers and seed mixes. We will be highlighting the environmental and economic challenges posed by invasive species and exploring alternative plant options that are both beautiful and beneficial. Learn practical tips for promoting biodiversity in your backyard!
